The AVHS Hockey web site now has "RSS" news feed capability. You can follow Eagles hockey news "your way" by choosing one of the methods below: Facebook: Connect to our fan page "AVHS Boys Hockey" and click on "LIKE" to receive Eagles hockey news right to your Facebook home page. Click here to connect. News updates will automatically be posted to our Facebook "Wall" Twitter Updates: Twitter is a great way to follow Eagles Hockey by text messages if you don't have mobile access to the internet. Just text "follow avhsboyshockey" to 40404 and follow the instructions from Twitter on your phone. For detailed help on setting up Twitter click here. To follow us on the web version of Twitter - click here. Outlook & Mobile Phone Calendars: Outlook 2007 and some mobile phone calendars (eg. iPhone), allow you to "subscribe" to external calendars. These subscribed calendars will then show up in your main calendar program using a different color than your personal calendar. To subscribe to the AVHS Boys Hockey Events calendar - copy and past the following URL into your calendar program: http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/avboosters%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics Click on iPhone Calendar Help or Outlook Calendar Help for more details. Google Calendar: You can keep track of game times by clicking on the "+Google Calendar" symbol in the lower right hand corner of the Event calendar. Register for free or sign-in with your existing Google ID, and your calendar will automatically be updated with game schedules and events. Google calendar is also viewable on your phone by going to http://mobile.google.com/calendar and logging in with your Google ID. Google/Yahoo Home Pages: Just click on the "View More" section underneath the Announcements postings, or Game Highlights or Coaches Corner etc., then click on the "Subscribe to Posts". Then select which home page (eg. Google/Yahoo) to add the RSS module and you'll always be updated on any new AVHS Hockey postings. Outlook 2007 Email Updates: To follow Eagles Hockey on your Outlook 2007 email - goto to "Tools>Account Settings> then click on the "RSS Feed" tab. While viewing our website go to the news section that you want to track and click "View More" (eg. Announcements). Next, right-click on the "Subscribe to Posts" link and open the link in a new tab - this will take you to a strange looking website with all text. Finally, highlight the "http://....posts.xml" URL area and copy/paste it into the RSS Feed tab of Outlook. Do the same operation for additional RSS Feeds you want to follow such as the Game News Updates. Any news updates on our website will now automatically appear in your Outlook inbox under "RSS Feeds". |
